Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 Review

Nike Pegasus Turbo 2

Using Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 for high-speed training is an amazing experience. It has been the most lightweight and responsive running shoe that I have ever tested until so far. But not only for running on circuits. They well presented the group of high-tempo running shoes outside of circuit as well. Let’s take a look at some strong and weak points that are worth mentioning the most!

Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 are made of light upper and very light midsole. Thus, their overall weight accounts for just 221 grams (size 42). Compared to Nike Pegasus 36 that are a bit heavier (250 grams on average), you will enjoy these running shoes for a higher tempo much better. While classic Pegasus are for longer runs, typical volume shoes, these Pegasus Turbo 2 will make you shine on shorter, sprint-oriented distances instead. The bevelled heel improves first momentum of strike and rides you smoothly to the next one. Personally, I loved the shape. It is seriously very aerodynamic and lean so that the shoes don’t feel hindering your movement, instead supportive for your run.

ZoomX fills in the midsole. And to be honest, I think it is one of the best qualities that you can expect from Nike these days. The model is a bit similar to Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Turbo. Both have ZoomX midsole, that offers up to 85 % of energy return. At least, that’s what Nike officially says. The truth is that you will definitely notice the high responsiveness. It is simply there. I felt it no matter the distance. The advantage compared to Pegasus 35 Turbo is that Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 is by 20 grams lighter.

The last point, I liked this model for comfort. The shoe is very well supportive, holding greatly the arches and stabilizes accordingly. The weak point may be for someone the wider shape of the toe box. I have wide forefoot so that I rather appreciated it, but I think that runners having narrower feet wouldn’t like it. The heel is a bit loose. Again, I don’t mind it. I tested Under Armour Hopvr Phantom which was a complete opposite and that was way much worse. In case Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2, you can easily tighten the laces and it saves the overall fit accordingly.

Nike Pegasus Turbo 2

As it is considered a top class running shoe, be prepared that you will really have to pay for it. Nike Zoom Pegasus Turbo 2 is very expensive. Whether it’s worth the money is a good question. I tested the model for almost a hundred miles and it lasted over the whole time without losing the original shape and outsole pattern depth. So for me, definitely worth the purchase. If you are searching for high tempo running shoes, this is a perfect option!
