Girls, watch out! If you are on a hunt for fancy, stylish sports shoes that go well with most casual clothing, then you are on the right track. Adidas Cloudfoam Pure is the newly released model by Adidas, especially for women. Sure, you can find the man’s version as well but most of the shape and design variations you’re going to find in colors for women. So if you want some chick sneakers that you can combine easily with everything, please keep reading. We are gonna take a look at Adidas Cloudfoam Pure from the perspective of design and most importantly, from a runner’s perspective.
Cushioning itself
Did you notice in the beginning of this review that I haven’t mentioned anything about running in Adidas Cloudfoam Pure? Obviously, you may see it just from the picture below that I added. These shoes are not for running really. And I would actually add that not even a tiny bit. Just from the looks, you cannot really compare them with high volume running shoes such as those of the Ultraboost series by adidas or with Nike Zoom (For example I tested Pegasus 36 and they are great) or specifically with Asics Novablast (those I love the most). These shoes lack any sort of professional cushioning, thickness and the proper structure that normally nowadays running shoes have.
They do possess memory sockliner and Cloudfoam cushioning. But that one is in this model rather flat, not providing such a huge mass of shock absorption as in other models. Having these Adidas Cloudfoam Pure tested for a few runs around 15 km in total, I know what I am talking about. Especially after having used Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 36 (also in woman’s version). I really love running. And after those 7 years of using different kinds of running shoes, with a peace of heart, I can easily say that Adidas Cloudfoam Pure are incomparable to other running models.
What I loved these shoes for…
Enough of criticism for now. I don’t want to be just critical because I still enjoyed these sports shoes for their style. It is awesome in how many variations you can get these shoes. On Amazon, there are around 28 different variations that you may choose from. Neutral pink, beige the same as blue denim go perfectly well with everyday clothing. And many other colors as well…. Adidas Cloudfoam Pure don’t look bulky but instead, narrow and slim on the feet. And I think that that is great because I don’t know that many sports/stylish shoes that go well with a skirt the same as long jeans. Maybe because I wear mostly running shoes… 😀
What surprised me
Every sports/running shoes that I have tried until now had a tongue. That you may modify or adjust the way you need. But Adidas Cloudfoam Pure is tongueless. The shoe’s one-piece upper goes over arches and is topped by shoelaces. But those serve just for the decoration and cannot be adjusted. That is a bit of a shame as you need the shoes to be a perfect fit for you. They are an easy slip on but if you order or buy a wrong size of these shoes, then there is not much way for modification. On the other hand, I got the size 9 for testing and their fit was right to the point. So not an issue in the end.
Other attributes
As there is not that much cushioning, Adidas Cloudfoam Pure are a very lightweight model. No gel misole as such in Asics, makes you move slower. It is not such a big plus, especially when there are tones of lightweight midsoles in the market. But still I liked it.
So in the end
I think that Adidas Cloudfoam Pure are very lovely, cute and comfortable slip on shoes for casual wear. But if you plan to run a half marathon in these, it is definitely a bad idea. They are lacking padding, lacking solid structure for arch support on long distances and actually, they also have a bit thin outsole. So that if you kept them using for long distances, they would get worn out very fast. Adidas Cloudfoam Pure are great for easy exercising, yoga or undemanding walks. For these activities I like them the most.
The shoe tongue slips out of place no matter how I tie them making them uncomfortable
