Nike running shoes

Nike Inc. is an American sportswear company founded in 1964, formerly known as Blue Ribbon Sports. It was renamed to Nike, Inc. later in 1971. The typical swoosh logo as we recognize it now, was combined with the word Nike first. Later on, in 1995, it was changed to the typical Nike logo and it hasn’t been changed ever since. The company was founded in the US, in Oregon by student athlete Phil Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman. 

There are not many that wouldn’t know Nike for ultimately great sports equipment, running shoes and different kinds of apparels. But the truth is that Nike’s strength most significantly lies in a really strong branding connected to the well-known sportsmen. Their endorsement and success is connected to Nike. 

An example that you can find is Roger Federer who used to wear Nike shoes and clothing on the tennis court for more than twenty years (before he ditched Nike and went to Uniqlo in 2018). And who wouldn’t know the famous basketball player Michael Jordan? After whom the basketball shoes were named so that the company managed to earn in the first year an incredible sum of $126 million.
