Nike React Infinity Run Review

Nike React Infinity Run

High-mileage running shoe offering premium quality cushioning and comfort. That’s Nike React Infinity Run that I seriously consider after the testing to be very great. And it has even more to offer besides the three aspects that I mentioned. If it also has some negatives? Keep reading. I will mention all my observations step by step here. 🙂

First impression

Nike React Infinity Run Review

If you get the white version that is the most common on the market, you won’t fail to notice the ultimately luminescent design. The shoes are incredibly shiny and reflective. For a night run, this is a small plus point. Not only because of the white design on the surface of the upper, but the logo, the same as the ankle green collar is very reflective. So even when the shoes get worn out a bit and start to be dusty and white is not the real white anymore, you will keep visible on the road because of those reflective parts! That was pretty cool.

Running itself

Having used it for more than a hundred miles (160 km), Nike proved that this model has been proposed really adequately. The React midsole feels brisk and energetic. Well responsive and making you run easily long distances than in most other running shoes. It feels actually very similar to the earlier model Nike Epic React Flyknit 2. In this case, even though the shoe is quite a bit heavier, the upper is wider and more stretchy than in Nike Epic React Flyknit 2. Thus, in the case of Nike React Infinity Run, I had no problems with scratches on my heel as with Epic React Flyknit 2.

Well, the upper is maybe even looser than is desirable. I had to tighten the shoelaces stronger before every run. Only then the shoe didn’t feel loose-fitting and I could enjoy the whole run without risking injuries from incorrect treading and movements of my heels inside the shoe.

Stability shoe

When laced properly, then Nike React Infinity Run works very well. As I said, the shoe is quite wide, but not just in the upper. The outsole shape is also wide, especially in the toe box. That is very important because when a running shoe has such a high portion of cushioning (by 24 % more than Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 and 30 mm in total) and it is tall, it needs to be wide. Otherwise the stability would be low. Nike very well understood this and made Nike React Infinity Run pretty wide in the profile. It adds unfortunately to the bulkiness of the shoe, but you can be sure you won’t get your ankles twisted because of a narrow profile. The shoe is wide enough in the forefoot so that it feels comfortable.

Moreover…

The shoes are made of thin upper and offer high flexibility. Still keep the same shape and don’t collapse after wearing. On the other hand, it is a real road shoe. Having seen how thin the upper is, I wouldn’t risk taking them into the forest or on a trail run in general. They are the best for a city run or using them indoors.
It is overall a really nice model of running shoes. Nike React Infinity Run is not a disappointment. Actually, it is even better in my opinion than Nike Epic React Flyknit 2. In my eyes, it is just a smaller brother of this running shoe. The only really terrific point is the price tag. But no surprise it went so high. It is seriously a premium-quality shoe that offers the best from Nike. Check the most recent comments at Amazon.com and other specifications there. It is a good source for other user-level reviews.
