Do you want new running shoes that feels extremely soft and comfy at the same time? If so, then please keep reading for some deeper insight! 🙂
When taking a look at the new Brooks Adrenaline gts 19, we can say that finally, the Adrenaline series got a real, great new update. While Brooks Adrenaline gts 18 could have boasted just with some let’s optical, generic adjustments (for example Progressive Diagonal Rollbar, smooth ride and fancy design), Brooks Adrenaline gts 19 comes with 2 completely new improvements, the GuideRails system and DNA LOFT for the midsole.
Normally, I would say that it is just another high volume, road running shoe for long distances that you can find in any series from any other running shoes producer, from Nike, Adidas, Mizuno, Asics etc. And yes, basically, it is. Just except for one aspect that I have never come across anywhere else. And it’s the softness. This shoe, I can guarantee you, for the fact they used DNA Loft, feels really soft. From the very first run I have tested the shoe on my feet, I felt no real resistance, rather smooth shock absorption and smooth ride with every step.
I tested the shoe on 100 miles and still after that distance, the feeling hasn’t changed. The shoe hasn’t lost any material. While DNA AMP technology (used for instance for Brooks Levitate series) offers higher energy return, is more springy and good for sprints, this shoe is completely different. Brooks Adrenaline gts 19 you can better use for long training sessions than as a high speed model. The softness and thus shock absorption on paved roads is really significant. It is a shoe better for medium to slower tempo. In my case, it’s really ideal. I used it for testing in my hometown. I wouldn’t use it for different terrain. The durability is good, but don’t expect miracles. For harder terrain, I would definitely prefer using Brooks Ghost 12. You can read my review about them here.
Back to Brooks Adrenaline gts 19. What you will probably also find really interesting, is the fact that the shoe doesn’t feel as if lacking support. That is secured by the second improvement, which is the GuideRalis system. I am not sure how the guys from Brooks exactly make this in the midsole working, but I can again say, GuideRails delivers what it promises. Bracing inside the midsole is put the way the shoe feels actually supportive. The problem, that I have seen in many other models of running shoes, was that they are soft but then you start feeling the middle part of your flat feet, plantar fasciitis respectively. Because they lack that support. Here, even though I have flatter feet, I had no such problem.
I must already say it, I cannot help myself…. This shoe really feels amazing. I cannot complain. I haven’t been so surprised by any other model for such a long time. If you are a long distance runner who loves softy midsoles, this is a shoe for you. You can bu them in wide the same as narrow version. I would also compare this shoe to my previously tested Asics Gel Quantum Infinity model. Even though they are completely two different brand using completely different cushioning “filling foam” they are similarly soft. But Brooks Adrenaline gts 19 is lighter by 2 ounces than Asics Gel Quantum Infinity (I have my man version size the same for both models). And that makes in my opinion already a big difference. I would pick up Brooks before Asics for sure.
A few words in the end. Yes, I love these shoes. Yes it is a high quality product and yes, they solve my flat feet problem and allow me to run long distances without a problem. Is there any negative? Maybe just the fact, it is a typical Brooks colored model. Nothing that exceptional. It is not extremely fancy. But I still like them. Definitely recommend it!!! 🙂
