First being said, even though we called Saucony Endorphin Speed as if they were for men only, they are for both men and women. The reason for that is because we tested the shoes in the men´s version only. But now, straight to the point…..
There are two main features that you will love Saucony Endorphin Speed for. It’s the speed and the total weight. By far, we found them one of the fastest and lightest models that you may find in today’s market. We tested the shoes as a daily trainer, the same as for long distances for more than 20 miles running. In total I used them for over 70 miles. And no need to say that it really surprised us. Well, it actually totally amazed me.
PWRRUNPB midsole
A midsole that has been suggested by the company to provide you with the most lightweight feeling on the roads. Personally, I mostly compare running shoes to those from Nike and New Balance. Specifically, I use Nike Quest 3 and NB Fresh Foam 1080v9 vs 1080v11. I find these Saucony Endorphin to be comparable to those two models. But they offer better durability and they are simply even faster than those two models. More resilient is possibly just my personal feeling but that the midsoles are energetic and perfectly responsive, that is a simple fact.
Thanks to the PEBA material that the midsoles are made of, you will run smooth and fast under any circumstances. PEBA is a high performance thermoplastic elastomer that is of low density but keeps the same shape even after heavy usage. No surprise that they use it for other outdoor equipment as well…. Anyway, in the case of these shoes, it creates a perfect balance between weight and responsiveness. Thus, the shoes feel overall really dynamic and fast.
Shoes for extreme conditions?
Not really, I would say. Because I tested Saucony Endorphin Speed in cold, rainy weather in November, the same as in still kind of warm September. And I must admit that they felt pretty much the same over time under any weather conditions. But on the other hand, as they are with some carbon rubber in the midsole, they have felt resilient enough. There has been no sign of having them worn more than usual. A few scratches and dots on the midsoles from the stones. Other than that, they remained the same.
Overall fit
I don’t think that there needs to be much said. Saucony Endorphin Speed are simply lighter than most of the high volume, every-day trainers. Mine were only around 240 grams for the UK size 8.5. I truly appreciated it. Thanks to the FORMIT technology that forms the upper, they were maximally comfortable. The upper is light but solid enough so that it well holds the foot in the right position during every step. I had no problem with slipping off at all.
Thus, I can say that I loved Saucony Endorphin Speed a lot. I found it to be truly fast and if it were not for the weirdly designed upper I would possibly call it perfect. But that is just a one thing. If you are searching for a high speed, lightweight, good-quality runningh shoes, Saucony Endorphin Speed is the one for you.
