Easy slip on shoes for every-day wear and running, that’s what I’ve wanted for quite some time. Something simplistic without a need to lace the shoes up every time when I decided to take them outside for sports activities. Then I got for testing these Adidas Kaptir and I was wearing them for 3 weeks continuously. How was the shoes’s overall performance and whether I would buy them in real after the test…
Easy to put on?
The fact you don’t have to lace anything is perfect. You put Adidas Kaptir on and you can immediately go on with your former intention. The problem is that the model seems to be a bit too snug over the top and also the entering is made smaller than in other running shoes. So that actually while you save a bit of time on lacing, you may have problems when putting your feet into these shoes. As I used Adidas Kaptir in time, it got better after 2 weeks. The shoes stretched and it became a minor problem.
Overall comfort
Otherwise, their fit feels extremely soft and snug. They are not tight inside at all, just entering them was a problem. They can boast with a well/made sock-like construction that tenderly hugs the foot. Besides, they are perfectly lightweight. They reach just around 8,52 oz (242 grams) in my man’s version. Thanks to these features I would call Adidas Kaptir as being perfectly comfortable sports shoes. For not so strongly demanding cardio activities they are the way to go.
How went running with Adidas Kaptir itself
As I outlined before, these sports shoes are better for casual wear and lighter trainings. Why? Because Kaptir’s cushioning Cloudfom is not of the best quality. If you plan to take them for a half-marathon or even just for a 6 miles run, definitely go for a class up. And get something proper for running, such as Adidas Ultraboost 20 with the Boost midsole. Alternatively, go for Adidas SL 20 which is equipped with the Lightstrike cushioning. Just to add… Boost is way more responsive and Lightstrike cushioning offers the same lightness but is more more resilient than Cloudfoam.
So my feeling after having Adidas Kaptir used for running and exercising for three weeks was that these shoes are comfortale, fashionable, kind of urban-style, fancy shoes but that don’t have that much support and lack cushioning for long runs especially. And that’s their biggest weakness unfortunately.
Design
Well, I liked them. Even though they are a bit similar to Adidas Lite Racer RBN that also have Cloudfoam cushioning, Adidas Kaptir look better. Why? Because they don’t look as cheap as Adidas Lite Racer RBN. My blue version of Adidas Kaptir’s looked very nicely knitted on the top. Adidas used darker and lighter blue and it looks decent and properly made. Lite Racer is rather simple, one color made. So too basic in my opinion. Besides, it has laces, so it is not a slip on model such as Adidas Kaptir. The feature for which I wanted to try this shoe.
What else to add
I will make it short from the now on… I have asked myself in the beginning of this review whether I would go and buy Adidas Kaptir for myself. So the answer is as follows: For casual wear and wearing them in the garden, around the house, gym sessions, yes, for sure, they are great. I would not hesitate buying Adidas Kaptir because the quality makes sense to me. But for running no. And in that case, I would not buy it. I would get something better. For running, even for short distances, support, responsiveness and durability is not sufficient.
