Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 is a great daily trainer that will offer to you the best attributes for both long and short distance running. It brilliantly combines three technologies, GuideRails, BioMoGo DNA and DNA Loft. But if you are not a fan of Brooks and these technologies sound a bit alien to you, please keep reading. I will explain briefly in this review what it is all about and how it can make your “running life” easier.
Overpornators win
I have naturally fallen arches from overpronation so I always need shoes with a good arch support. For running particularly. Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 the same as its predecessor got equipped with GuideRails, a technology that is specially designed to support and make your feet doing the right movement with every step. And it works. It is true that it is not really changed from its predecessor Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 and in this aspect the shoes are identical. But if you want to go with the newest trends, you don’t have to worry that they botched for some reason. GuideRails feels seriously awesome. I haven’t felt my feet hurting at any distance nor my knees. I found it actually very similar to the older version of Asics Gel Kayano 25. You can take a look at them at Amazon and possibly take them into consideration too. The matter of fact is that Kayanos are actually a cheaper alternative.
Sizing and weight
Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 removed some minorities at the upper and the result is that this model is slightly lighter than the one before. Even though it went down on weight by 0.4 oz approximately, I consider it rather a small change. You will barely notice a difference in comparison to previous model. As for sizing, it is again very similar to Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 because again, the company didn’t make it correct. The shoe runs a bit less than half a size smaller. So that in case you tend to run on a larger size with shoes, don’t hesitate and pick half a size up.
Other than that
Midsoles have the aforementioned two technologies, DNA Loft in the heel part and BioMoGo DNA. If you run more over heels than forefoot, you will definitely appreciate the smoothness and softness that DNA Loft provides. It is an additional cushioning layer that reduces shock absorption. Very useful for me, as I am heavy, over 220 pounds and I tend to run over heels. BioMoGo DNA is in the resting part of the shoe and it provides high-quality but standard EVA cushioning. And I can say that it feels well balanced with the rest of the shoe. Not too soft, rather medium springy.
Upper
I like how the upper is thin and flexible. You can roll it and it still keeps the same shape. I also like the colors and how elegant they seem. I would not even hesitate to take this shoe for a walk or some social activity. Not just running.
All in all, I think that Brooks Adrenaline 20 is one of the running shoes that will definitely make a lot of us very happy on the road. Those having overpronation especially. That’s in the end the most significant attribute of this model. At least, it is what I appreciated the most. This model is definitely worth the money that you are gonna pay for it.
