Adidas PureBoost X Review

Adidas PureBoost X Review

Approximately one year ago, I discovered these shoes as recommended for their ultimately unusual design and as these purely made for women. The truth is, they really are very specific for their arch part that is kind of “floating” above the midsole and outsole. The “wow” effect of the design is even stronger when you realize you can easily see through the shoe which until that time I have never seen before. So what do I think about it as a real running shoe and other technical specification?

The first impression was that they are seriously very comfortable. Thanks to the fact the upper is completely made of the woven textile material makes it a shoe you barely feel on your feet. So very lightweight. Even the inner part is fully protected by the textile which is soft so that you don´t feel any plastic stitches for the laces. In that part I think Adidas really listened to its customers who argued about it in previous models. So definitely thumbs up. 🙂 Also, the material is so thin all around the shoe that the ventilation of the shoe is just perfect and your feet will breath all the time quite a lot!

The midsole is made of Adidas Boost Technology which helps the runner to absorb tread shocks. I find this already as a standard but the truth is that thanks to the fact that the midsole is made of small compacted capsules, each capsule reacts in each part differently and accordingly to the strength of the shock. So that finally, the whole midsole is appropriately responsive.

Another plus is, that the midsole together with the upper are very lightweight. I didn´t have any feeling of discomfort stemming from this part. Instead, the real disappointment for me was the arch support. I have already heard about the problem before buying these shoes and the truth is, it seriously is not a good shoe for someone having problems with flat feet as I do. I don´t even think actually it is well made for neutral runners and there appears a real NO GO for me in case of these shoes. I was even thinking what was the real intention of making them to look the way they do. Because somehow when the shoe is not stitched to the midsole and looks the way it is “floating” it is maybe fashionable and kind of like looking as “high-heeled shoe”. But honestly, I had an overall impression it suppresses the usability for running completely.

For the long distance runners, everyone knows what it feels like if you are a person going for a 10 kilometers run and you start feeling your feet being in pain after 2 kilometers already. Just a really pointless effort, it becomes… From this point, I think it is really not the best product. And for running, I would never use it again.
